In 2012, Wichita State launched a master planning
process to engage the community in the task of imagining
a campus aligned with the dynamic, powerful future
envisioned in WSU's ambitious mission and vision
statements. Within five years, that work was well
established with the amazing transformation of a 120-acre
section of the campus that once housed the Braeburn Golf
Course.
Wichita State University’s Innovation Campus is an
interconnected community of partnership buildings, where
organizations establish operations and reap the rewards
of the university’s vast resources. Laboratories give students access
to real-world applications and the training needed to effortlessly
assimilate into the workforce, and a community makerspace gives
both students and non-students access to the technology and
services that helps facilitate product development. It is also home
to new residential, retail and services developments to improve the
quality of student life and draw the community onto campus -- and
there is much more to come! Wichita State’s Innovation Campus is
a mixed-use area that provides everyone with a place to live, learn,
work and play.
